Local school bus drivers picketed outside the Brattleboro Union High School complex in the area where students are typically dropped off by school buses, calling for Beacon Mobility, which owns F.M. Kuzmeskus/Travel Kuz, to get back to the negotiation table. Temporary drivers were brought in to bring students to school on the first day.
BRATTLEBORO — School bus drivers and monitors, who were locked out of the terminal on Putney Road due to contract disputes and later protested at schools, attracted attention this year before they were able to land on a suitable agreement.
F.M. Kuzmeskus/Travel Kuz, which is owned by Beacon Mobility, and the Teamsters Local 597 ultimately signed a five-year contract for Windham Southeast Supervisory Union routes in September.
