BRATTLEBORO — With transportation getting off to a bumpy start for the school year, officials hope to correct its course soon.

Replacement drivers had taken on school bus routes for the Windham Southeast Supervisory Union due to contract disputes between the transportation company and the employees' union.

"The immediate feedback was a lot of issues, a lot of chaos, especially in the outlying schools, but certainly a lot of issues that needed attention," Superintendent Mark Speno said at the WSESU Board meeting Wednesday.
