MONTPELIER — Superintendents are no longer being asked by the state to individually "reaffirm" compliance of federal law, as a federal ban on diversity, equity and inclusion programming looms in the background. 

Vermont Education Secretary Zoie Saunders said a single, statewide letter will be sent to the U.S. Department of Education certifying compliance with applicable current law rejecting "conditions or assurances that are not supported by current law."
