BRATTLEBORO — Supporters of diversity, equity and inclusion practices and programs in schools are speaking out in the wake of a federal ban. 

Vermont Education Secretary Zoie Saunders asked superintendents Friday to certify compliance with a civil rights section of Title 6 that prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion and national origin in federally funded programs.
