As journalists, freedom of speech, thought and information is always top of mind for us. It’s especially so during Banned Books Week, the American Library Association’s annual campaign drawing attention to the most challenged books in the country and the dangers of censorship in general. Banned Books Week culminates today on Let Freedom Read Day, defined by organizers’ call to action for all liberty-minded Americans: “The freedom to read is under attack — let’s do something about it.”
