NEWFANE — Vermont EMS Academy is expanding its reach by launching a paramedic program in the new year.
Emily Wilson, paramedic program director at VEMSA, said her group's goal always is to "bolster the Vermont workforce because there's a huge need for paramedics in the state."
Rescue Inc. opened the academy in Newfane with other class offerings in fall 2022 and submitted information about its intent to start the process for creating the paramedic program in September 2023.
