Dozens of open and exposed syringes scatter the property of Rail and River Resturaunt, formerly the Whetstone Station, on Bridge Street in Brattleboro.
While the issue itself is not a new one, the reality is that property owners are being forced to take substantial health risks to clean up used syringes with exposed needles. While local law enforcement does what they can to keep drug use curtailed in the downtown district, the issue seems to be getting worse, not better, and local business owners and landlords bear the risk and responsibility to clean up the town's mess.
