Melissa Evans, the acting police chief for the Hinsdale, N.H., Police Department, will become the first permanent female chief starting on May 20.
HINSDALE, N.H. — Hinsdale's new police chief has been with the department for seven years and has no plans to leave the job anytime soon.
"I see myself here for a while," said Melissa Evans, who was appointed as the town's first female police chief by the Hinsdale Board of Selectmen on May 6.
