BRATTLEBORO — A Chester man accused of shooting and killing his mother’s cat and pushing his niece down a flight of stairs was denied release on bail Tuesday after a Windham County judge concluded that his extensive criminal history, repeated violations of court orders, and the fear expressed by alleged victims made him too great a risk to release.
