Community members, including recent refugees, enjoy a celebration with traditional Afghan food at ECDC Multicultural Center in Bennington on the program's first anniversary. The Vermont Afghan Alliance said on Tuesday that an order to temporarily halt federal payments would shut the Alliance down “overnight” by preventing the organization from accessing obligated funds.

BRATTLEBORO — A research study, which relies on surveys and interviews of refugees in Brattleboro and Bennington, warns that they risk loss of services, health care and housing without additional support. 

With funding from University of Vermont's Leahy Institute for Rural Partnerships, Pablo Bose of UVM and Thomas Huddleston of the Ethiopian Community Development Center collaborated with UVM students on the project.
