BRATTLEBORO — The Leaf Brigade had a successful mission.
Municipal budget constraints prompted the volunteer leaf collection organized by two Select Board members.
"It was excellent," Board Vice Chairman Oscar Heller said. "We had, if anything, a couple more volunteers than signed up officially, which was awesome."
Heller, who organized Saturday's collection with board member Amanda Ellis-Thurber, counted about 20 volunteers.
