MONTPELIER — A new survey from state cannabis regulators seeks to gather input to better understand employment trends from those on the ground.
Feedback will help inform the Cannabis Control Board on "the shape of the market as it relates to jobs and careers in the industry — an essential part of understanding the overall health of the marketplace," an announcement states.
The employment survey is estimated to take five to seven minutes to complete. It will stay open until Oct. 31.
"This survey focuses on real, on the ground workforce details such as job roles, pay ranges, hours, and benefits so we can build policies and programs that reflect the needs of the industry," states information provided to participants.
The CCB said it will not collect names or any identifying information. Participation is optional.
A link to the survey was sent out to "all active employees in the state," said Patrick Crowley, outreach and education manager at the CCB. Responses will remain anonymous then results will be combined and shared only in aggregate, according to the CCB.
"Every response will help shape a stronger, fairer, and more sustainable cannabis industry in Vermont," the information states. "Thank you for helping us understand and support Vermont’s cannabis workforce. Your insights are essential to ensuring that this industry works for all."
MONTPELIER — A new survey is set to take stock of the current cannabis industry workforce in…
CCB member Julie Hulburd previously said the CCB conducted a workforce study in 2023, when the industry had about 413 employee ID card holders. Topics included pay, employment, and benefits.
Now, Hulburd estimates the industry has more than 1,000 employee ID card holders.
"So you know, it is a good time to do that survey again and to have that survey evolve to tell us a little bit more about the labor in this industry and what the workforce looks like and how it's contributed to Vermont," she said at the CCB meeting June 25.
