BRATTLEBORO — A Windham County judge told a defendant on Monday that if the decision were hers alone, she would have imposed a harsher sentence for his role in a months‑long drug‑dealing operation in Brattleboro.

Judge Jennifer Barrett delivered the warning as she accepted a negotiated plea agreement for Shane Farrell, 55, of Brattleboro, who admitted to selling fentanyl and cocaine and participating in a conspiracy that operated from late 2024 into the spring of 2025.
